Three Academicians of the CAS &CAE Taught by Li Jijun
Qin Dahe, graduated from Physical Geography Major of Department of Geological Geology in Lanzhou University in 1970, received a doctorate of of Natural Science in 1992. In 2003, he was honored as the academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; In 2004, Doc. Qin won a seat in TWAS ( The Third World Academy of Sciences). In 2013, he was awarded Volve Environment Prize, the “Nobel Prize” in the field of environment and sustainable development.
Yao Tandong, one of the pioneers on ice core research in China, was elected as the academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2007. Considering his outstanding contribution to the study on Qinghai-Xizang Plateau glacier and environment, SSAG (Swedish Society for Anthropology and Geography) laureled him Vega Medal, the “Nobel Prize” on geography .
Chen Fahu, graduated from the College of Resources and Environment in Lanzhou University in 1984, received a PhD in 1990. Elected as the academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, he is solely occupied with the research on environmental change in drought and semi-arid areas and the interaction between men and environment in prehistoric era.
