Recently, the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) announced the list of candidates for the Ninth CAST Youth Talent Lift Project, and our young faculty member, Dr. Wang Jie from the Department of Water Resources, was selected.

The CAST Youth Talent Lift Project is a national-level youth talent program initiated by the China Association for Science and Technology in 2015. It aims to support young scientific and technological talents under the age of 32, serving as a reserve force for the selection of top talents at the national level and the construction of high-level innovative teams. The project is evaluated annually, and the list of individuals to be supported is determined through candidate recommendations, comprehensive evaluations by societies or joint bodies of societies, and public announcements. Each individual selected receives three years of continuous research funding support.

For a long time, the university has adhered to the core philosophy of "pleasing those nearby and attracting those from afar," attaching great importance to the introduction and cultivation of young talents. It consistently places talent development quality at its core, adheres to characteristic connotative development, actively recruits talents, and implements a talent-strong university strategy. The university encourages young talents to be innovative, take on responsibilities, shoulder major tasks, play leading roles, and proactively contribute to national strategies and local economic and social development.
